scrap space challenge

Help me re-invent my scrap space!  It's a disgusting mess that needs more organization and storage ideas.  Right now I'm not motivated to do anything down there.  Madden's scrapbook album is only at Halloween...  Halloween 2008.  He was only 5 days old!
So I need you to help me with you're crafty organizational and storage ideas, spending very minimal money.
Here is what my basement/scrap space looks like:

This is the main corner where I have tried to set up my supplies and where I do most of my scrapbooking.  It doesn't make too much sense since it's not very roomy on that desk when I have my stuff layed out, and I have so much more room over here.

I need to get the stuff on this table organized in some way so I have room to work over here.  This is what I need to organize:

I also have a random shelf way up above the desk that is being pretty useless at the moment.

Oh and here's the rest of the room, defintely needs a little bit of organization...
